Change can be uncomfortable, my stylish friends. It’s hard to step out of your comfort zone. Our brains are wired to keep us there because it’s familiar and that feels safe. Taking the first step is usually the hardest but once you take it, the change seems less daunting. I find it’s often exciting and ultimately rewarding.

Here’s an example. Mark and I have been wanting to shoot a video highlighting one of our design projects for some time. But the thought of stepping in front of the camera with the bright lights and the microphone seemed terrifying. But this year creating a video was on our list of goals and the end of the year was quickly approaching. Then we met a talented young videographer/photographer and decided NOW was time! The video took a few takes–there were lots of stops & starts– but with positive support and encouragement, I did it!
