HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS

Mark and I became empty nesters this Fall and suddenly the phrase ‘Home for the Holidays’ took on a more significant meaning. Our little chicks were gone but they would be returning, at least for a little while. They would be sleeping in their old beds. Eating chocolate chip pancakes. Snuggling in front of the TV to watch ‘Elf’ for the zillionth time. And we’d feel a natural comfort as soon as we knew they were on their way home. Like the songs says, “For the holidays, you can't beat home, sweet home.”
